It is held annually in Montreal, Quebec during the summer season (usually the beginning of July) and gathers artists from around the world. It is typically attended by over 2 million people who are attracted by the electric atmosphere, diversity of shows and by the city itself. The festival reported on its website (below) in April 2008 that the attendance of the 2007 festival reached 2.1 million. Many parts of the city's downtown core are closed to traffic for two weeks as outdoor shows are free to the public on many stages. Attendance to some shows is over 100,000.
Shows are held in a wide variety of venues, from relatively small jazz clubs to the large halls of Place des Arts. Some of the outdoor shows are held on cordoned-off streets while others are on terraced parks. Typically there are approximately 500 concerts offered during the span of 10 days, from noon to midnight, about 350 of which are outdoors and free to the public.

Harry Callahan

Harry Morey Callahan (October 22, 1912– March 15, 1999) was an American photographer who is considered one of the great innovators of modern American photography. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and started photographing in 1938 as an autodidact. By 1946, he was appointed by László Moholy-Nagy to teach photography at the Institute of Design in Chicago. Callahan retired in 1977, at which time he was teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Callahan left almost no written records--no diaries, letters, scrapbooks or teaching notes. His technical photographic method was to go out almost every morning, walk the city he lived in and take numerous pictures. He then spent almost every afternoon making proof prints of that day's best negatives. Yet, for all his photographic activity, Callahan, at his own estimation, produced no more than half a dozen final images a year.

Petit projet réalisé dans le vieux port de montréal. Portrait au flash j'aime beaucoup le contraste. C'est la premiere fois que je pousse autant le photoshop dans une photo alors voici un petit avant apres de mon travail... pour certain c'est peut-être pas grand chose mais pour moi ce fut toute une aventure

Dispositif du voir....qu'est ce que sa veut dire??? Bien, c'est d'expliquer ou de démontrer quelque chose d'invisible pas une photo. Moi j'ai voulu réprésenter ce qu'on apelle au québec les accomodements raisonnables. Les acccomodements que le peuple québecois fait avec les culture étrangères. Mon concept était de trouver quelque chose qui représente bien la culture québecoise et dit intégrer les cultures étrangères ou même l'évolution de la société en général.... et j'ai trouvé LA POUTINE, j'y est ensuite intégrer son évolution comme la poutine italienne, la galvaude ou même la végétarienne et voila le résultat, un dispositif que je juge assez bien réuissi et qui fait maintenant une merveilleuse décoration dans ma cuisine!
